Read My Story

I love seeing new cities. I’ve travelled to Switzerland, Portugal, Greece, Spain, Holland, New York, Florida and had a great time in the Dominican Republic over new year. I plan to add Italy, San Francisco and Vegas to the list.

In my free time, I play football, golf and I am a long distance runner, I have season tickets to watch Hearts and Manchester United at football and love almost every sport.

Why Get Into Tech And Entrepreneurship

Many people dont get why I do this entrepreneurial stuff, it must be risky?!?

I think letting someone else make decisions about what you do, what you learn and whether you are good enough is more risky. Actually, playing safe is risky, the safest thing to do is to take a risk. Check out the economy now! Get Seth Godins book The Purple Cow US hereUK here, this book offers hundreds of amazing examples.

I’ve always been entrepreneurial and I’ve always felt the desire to create something that kicks “very good’s” ass.

Im working in the technology sector because I can see what it can do, I love change and cant wait for things to change. Its tough not being able to code or fully understand some deep technology chat but having the imagination to use technology is key, I think.

In 2007, I co-founded a summer web project to create a performer platform for the Edinburgh Fringe, great idea, but the Fringe and the venues were 25 years behind the times and didnt get it, they wanted to but just couldnt understand how someone could do something better than them, it was a strange environment. After partnership issues, I considered the project dead and I left to build a business online.

I graduated from university with an BA Honours degree in Business Studies. I was awarded a “CMI award for an outstanding grade in management development”. I gained this by achieving an 84% mark for my work experience portfolio and it being the best work placement grade in my year.

In April, 2008, I made a decision to work on a new business idea, in the events space and to nail it.

Eventzi.com will in 2009  be a helluva help to the little guys running events. You will be able to create an event web page, throw in your media and sell tickets online. Development team is in place and rocking.
